Be a Santa to a Senior program brings joy to seniors in need

Home Instead Senior Care in Toledo recently kicked off its annual Be a Santa to a Senior program, and this year, Home Instead has teamed up with Central Park West to increase awareness of this valuable holiday initiative.

“We’re very excited to be working with Central Park West this year and to be able to have our tree set up at this location,” said Lauren LaFerriere, Client Care Coordinator for Home Instead Senior Care. “The more we can get the awareness out in the community, the more people we can get involved, and the more people we can help.”

Be a Santa to a Senior helps provide gifts for those seniors who might otherwise not receive any gifts during the holidays. Those who wish to help can choose a tag containing a gift request from the Christmas tree at one of four locations: Central Park West, Walmart on Glendale Avenue, Chic Happens in Sylvania or Genesis Village. Purchase the item(s) on the wish list and return the gifts (along with the original tag) to an employee at any one of the participating locations.

“We’d really like people in the community to come out and get involved with helping the seniors in the community this holiday season,” Lauren added. “We will be accepting donations until December 18.”
