Hoen’s Garden Center & Landscaping kicks off autumn with fun for the whole family
By Chris Galford
Autumn means harvest season and that means a flurry of activity at Hoen’s Garden Center & Landscaping. Pumpkins, sweet corn, melons, gourds and corn stalks are set to swamp the facility, along with just about anything and everything related to autumn décor.
Even as the vegetables pour in, though, Bob and Theresa Hoen will spend October overseeing a free straw maze (from 10 am – 6 pm daily), as well as $1 hayrides on the weekends. They have also opened their U-Pick Tomato Field, with field hours from 9 am – 6:30 pm Monday through Saturday and 11 am – 4:30 pm on Sundays. As though that weren’t enough, October 11 and 12 will also see the 12th Annual Autumn Family Festival to their doors, from 11 am – 5 pm each day. As long as one has the tickets necessary, it plays host to a number of activities for all ages.
“It’s geared for that whole weekend, and it’s extra special with carnival games, hayrides, pony rides, a petting farm, inflatables, and the city barbeque will be here. There’s going to be doughnuts and cider too. It’s an awesome family weekend,” Theresa said.
Store hours run from 9 am – 7 pm Monday through Friday and 11 am – 5 pm on Sundays.
