On Tuesday, July 21, The Victory Center in Toledo held an informational event, “Planning Our Legacy and Celebrating Our Life,” aimed at helping those served by the center make end-of-life decisions.
“The Victory Center has been around for 19 years, and we serve cancer patients and their families and survivors with all sorts of free services,” explained Dianne Cherry, executive director at The Victory Center.
The Victory Center hosts support groups, and provides a wide range of programs from yoga to art therapy – all free of charge for those with cancer.
“The Victory Center does a lot in the community for cancer patients and their families, and they are not supported by any insurance or any other funding. They rely on donations and contributions,” added Lila Csortos, Legacy Financial Wellness.
Lila was joined by fellow guest speakers Doug Rechtine, financial services representative at Premiere Wealth Management Group, and Megan Coyle-Stamos, President of Coyle Funeral and Cremation services. Topics covered at the event included the importance of planned giving, estate planning basics and the advantages of pre-planning a life celebration. All attendees received a Legacy Kit, courtesy of Directions Credit Union.
