Whitehouse Inn offers visitors casual dining experience
By Matthew Kent
Tony Fronk has been involved in his family’s restaurants since the mid-1990s, but eventually decided to show off his passion by running his own business that has proven to be successful.
Tony is the owner of the Whitehouse Inn in Whitehouse, Ohio, that offers a casual dining experience with burgers, steak, seafood and other menu items available to order.
After graduating with a degree in accounting in the mid-1990s, he ran the books for a pair of restaurants his family owned during the day and was also trained by his father, John, in areas such as dishwashing, hosting and cooking.
Tony eventually went to Oregon, where the Oregon Inn was launched before a decision was made to sell the restaurant and relocated back to Ohio. In 2007, Tony bought the Whitehouse Inn, a restaurant that offers a banquet hall with catering service available.
The theme for the Whitehouse Inn was established based on the village’s name and Tony’s father owning presidential pictures, according to Tony. The business is open seven days a week and received a major facelift inside the building last year.
“Last April, we completed the interior renovation from top to bottom with all the presidents in order and we did it a little bit different, more classy is what it was, a new bar, new carpet, new paint, new mirrors, new walls, new everything,” Tony said.
Tony said the Whitehouse Inn is known for its prime rib and margaritas, which have been popular among customers who walk through the door. Specials can also be found throughout the week and a patio area is also available at the restaurant.
In addition, a large catering business has been established as part of running the Whitehouse Inn as well, according to Tony, who recognized that the area has been very supportive of the restaurant.
“This local community has just been phenomenal for us,” he said. “The local regulars we have are just phenomenal people … and this community is just a great community to be a part of and they’re very, very good to us. We’re very fortunate to be where we’re at.”
