Toledo Dental Arts offers restorative dentistry and implant services
By Wendy Cornett
Since 1993, Dr. Shabbir Hashim has served the dental needs of the Toledo community through his practice, Toledo Dental Arts. The current location, which opened in 2002, features state-of-the-art equipment and the latest technologies for diagnosing and treating patients. The facility’s cone beam computed tomography (CBCT), for example, uses a cone-shaped X-ray beam to produce 3-D images of bone, muscle and blood vessels.
“The CBCT allows us to actually see the vital structures, and we can see any anomalies, such as patterns in the bones that don’t quite look normal,” explained Dr. Hashim. “Three-dimensionally we can see these issues and catch them early.”
Toledo Dental Arts offers a wide range of services, including implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, endodontic procedures, oral surgery, laser dentistry, prosthodontics and more. Regular cleanings and exams, in addition to whitening treatments, crowns and dentures are also available.
Dr. Hashim credits his many mentors early on in his career with inspiring him to always grow as a dentist and expand his services.
“Because of my mentors, I feel like the world of dentistry opened up to me, and the possibilities opened up to me. I wanted to explore and keep on learning because they provided such a wealth of knowledge and inspired me,” Dr. Hashim recalled.
Toledo Dental Arts is devoted to providing patients with the latest techniques in restorative and cosmetic dentistry to help them achieve not only confident smiles, but also optimal dental health.
“When a tooth is missing, a whole host of other issues can occur,” Dr. Hashim said. “There’s drifting of the teeth, and the teeth don’t hit properly. This can lead to micro-fractures in the teeth, which can lead to bacteria getting into the pulp of the teeth. Replacing missing teeth with an implant prevents this domino effect.”
Missing teeth or malpositioned teeth may not cause discomfort right away, but down the road they can also lead to temporomandibular joint dysfunction (known as TMJ), which can trigger not only chronic headaches, but also neck and back problems.
“Restorative dentistry is not just cosmetic,” Dr. Hashim added. “The mouth is not on an island by itself.”
Toledo Dental Arts offers comprehensive dental care, from cleanings to cosmetic dentistry, for patients from 1 to 100. Dr. Hashim and his team take pride in providing the proper dental care patients need to keep their smiles happy and healthy.
