Getting your roof ready for summer storms
by Dan Mahl, FLT Columnist
No matter what your roof is made of or how long you’ve had it, it’s always a good idea to hire a professional to inspect your roof during the spring or early summer. Winter is a very harsh season, and it can leave your roof in disrepair. If it’s in an already weakened state, the summer rain and heat can do some serious damage to your roof and even more damage to the interior of your home.
Here are a couple things to look out for:
- Check to make sure all debris is removed from your roof and gutter to prevent clogs and rot.
- If your roof has shingles, check them for bumps or gaps, which indicates that they’ve been dislodged, and make sure none are missing.
- Look to make sure heat hasn’t caused your shingles or tiles to crack, curl or deteriorate. All roofing materials will be damaged by the elements eventually.
To make sure your roof is ready for summer, it’s best to hire a professional to inspect it. The roofing experts at All-Nu Construction are standing by to help today.
