The Rotary Club of Perrysburg hosts 31st annual Light the Night Silent Auction

Web PicOn Feb. 7, 2015 the Rotary Club of Perrysburg—a collection of about 120 members in the Perrysburg area—gathered together for its 31st Light the Night Silent Auction, to support charities both locally and abroad.
“Tonight is our biggest fundraising event of the year: it’s Light the Night,” said Rotary Club of Perrysburg president Jonathan Ahlberg. “It’s a great event. We have about 260, 270 people here tonight.”
According to Rick Thielen, chairman of the auction, the beneficiaries of awards include the Way Public Library, the End Polio Now foundation, the Rotary Club’s own foundation—the charitable arm of the club—and the Perrysburg High School Athletic Complex currently under construction.
For both recipients and members, though, the benefits are many. Dawn Schmidt, president of Independent Evaluators also noted: “Being in Rotary, all your good deeds come back full circle.”
Meanwhile, Dave Wise, partner at Spengler Nathanson P.L.L. said of the organization: “They’ve probably given over $1 million to local charities and international functions.”
