As others were prepping for the Christmas rush, Allure The Art of Beauty was opening its doors and its salon chairs to the streets of Maumee. The result of collaboration by partners Jamie Verbryke, Jeannie Smith and Patty Saunders, this salon is part of the extended Aveda family, with all the advantages that entails.

“We are an Aveda Salon, meaning that we are eco-friendly and organic, and our products are plant-derived. We are trained under Aveda for all of our techniques, our hair color, our nail services, our pedicure services; we use only their products. Aveda comes out here quarterly, and we go to their headquarters in Minneapolis, Minn., as well as to New York,” said Jamie.

Those trips abroad also mean that the salon’s stylists are constantly exposed to the latest trends or, at the least, gaining some new ideas to keep their clients ahead of the curve, fashionably speaking. This applies to more than just hair, as well, including nails, facial waxing and, for those just looking for a little relaxation, massages.

The salon opened on Dec. 17, 2014, but its grand opening is still on the rise. On Feb. 13, 2015, at 6 p.m., the salon will be open to the public with giveaways, as well as hosting a sale on all of its Aveda products for those who book an appointment at the grand opening. Given that it’s the only Aveda salon in Maumee, Ohio, the 20 percent off tagline involved in that sale will also be a singular treat.

Allure The Art of Beauty provides a professional, yet relaxing atmosphere to all of its customers.

As to the partners themselves — Jamie began her career in salon world in Perrysburg, in 2002. Jeannie has been in the world of hair for even longer, and the two have known each other for nearly 20 years. It was during their time together at Pyure Salon in Maumee that they decided with a long-time client — Patty — to see about starting their own business.

“With the help of Patty Saunders, her company, which is AMRI — a local staffing and human resource consulting agency — with her business, her help, that’s how we got to be where we are. She is our investor as well as our partner, and without her and her business, we wouldn’t have been able to do this,” Jamie said.
